Our substantial "beach house" is in Blairgowrie, approximately 100km from central Melbourne and at the narrowest part of the Mornington Peninsula, with an easy 15 minute stroll to the bay beach and the village. A secluded walk through the coastal national park takes you to the rugged ocean beach (15 minute walk), popular with surfers and fishermen and those who like the grand sound of rolling surf! The home has 5 bedrooms 2 living areas and superb outside undercover area. (There is a great cubby house for the kids to play in!) You will be on the doorstep of great Golf courses and for the less strenuous the Peninsula has some of the finest wineries in the country, all within a half hour drive. With the car ferry to Queenscliff only 5 minutes away, Geelong and the Surf coast plus the Great Ocean Road are also very accessible. And it is a great day trip too with the possibility of seeing Dolphins on the way.
Frodo is a 4.5 year old labradoodle and Frankie is a 1.5 year old toy cavoodle. They are both very active and enjoy at least one long walk each day and a couple of shorter ones. We usually walk them to the village (approx. 1.5 km each way) to do any shopping (and enjoy a coffee) each morning - weather permitting, along the beach. Then they have another walk later in the day around a couple of blocks and a quick trip out for a pee before bed. They are very friendly both with people and other dogs but Frodo is easily distracted by them and will not respond to recall if he is too excited. As a result, we always keep him on the lead during his walks. Our garden is well fenced but it is important that the front gates are closed as Frodo can be an escape artist, especially if another dog walks past! Read more...
